About This Site

This site was set up by Dennis Guertin as a location for the exchange of information on Louis Guertin dit Le Sabotier, and his descendents.

Contributions and questions are welcomed from anyone. Feel free to comment on any of the pages I've put up, and I welcome suggestion on how to make the site more effective and interesting.

The pages I've mounted are:

• 'The Guertin HomePage' contains a quick introduction and a selection of further pages.
• 'The Story Of Louis Guertin' contains what information I have shamelessly culled from the sources I've found on the departure from France and arrival in Canada of Louis. Other information will be added as it becomes available.
• 'References' is a page of reference material which contains information either mentioning, or directly and indirectly revelvant to Louis.
• 'Others' is a listing of researchers and their questions, or problems in researching their ancestors or descendents.
• 'Graphics' is a page giving access to several versions of the Guertin Family Crest that I scanned in, plus any other graphics that may be added to the site.
• 'Speculation' is a page devoted to sheer speculation (good taste always a consideration here) about Louis, etc.
• The First Nine Generations' is output from my database. I solicit your input with regards to errors or omissions.
• 'Variations in Spelling' is a page giving the various permutations that the Guertin name has gone through. (Yes, you may have married a relative!)
• 'Pronounciation' is a page I thought of when I realized there were so many Yank Cousins out there. ;)
